Overview:

Wings Arena is seeking committed volunteers to support our partnership with schools. Volunteers help children discover skating, assisting with skate fittings, safety, coaching, and equipment—all while supporting operations and youth skill development.
 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Arrive by 9 AM, prep skates and gear, set up in the locker rooms.

• Welcome students, assist with skate fitting and equipment.

• Teach and reinforce safety—ice etiquette, how to get up safely, skating basics.

• Serve as an on-ice monitor: lead by example, support skill development, assist with drills and offer encouragement.

• Support instructors with exercises and provide help to kids.

• Help transition kids off the ice and organize equipment after each session.

• Assist with cleanup: return equipment and ensure things are properly stored.

 

Qualifications:

• Proficient in ice skating and able to teach skating basics

• Friendly, patient, and attentive with young children

• Strong organizational skills and able to manage equipment

• Reliable, professional, and a team player.

 

Preferred Certifications:

• CPR/AED or First Aid certification

• SafeSport Trained certificate

• Background in teaching, coaching, or childcare

 

Job Requirements:

• This is an on-site position, available Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings

• Ability to lift/move skating equipment

• Willingness to complete orientation and safety protocols
